A little history: When Live on Tape first aired on July 4th, 1987- the show’s format was cut around a bad sci-fi or horror film. Guy and Arnie acted more or less as the hosts for the movie with sketches added in during the commercial breaks. Some viewers liked the movies and hated the skits, others liked the skits and hated the movies - and some just hated the whole thing - however, after 12 weeks, it was decided that Live on Tape would become its own half-hour series, airing at 10pm on Saturdays.
